2023 Teacher and Student Joint Academic Research Symposium

 

1.    The purpose of the activity:

Encourage students to share their academic research results in a simple way, and explain the importance of their research through a three-minute academic briefing.

 

2.    Qualifications for event registration: (Participation in the English oral presentation competition is voluntary)

A.    Poster Exhibition: Teacher, Student, Post-Doctoral Research.

B.    English Oral Presentation Competition: Must be a student.

3.    English oral presentation competition rules: (Participation in the English oral presentation competition is voluntary)

A.    Record a video for presentation of research results, the content of the video is limited to 3 minutes, and the speech is limited to English.

B.    The presentation materials are limited to one static slideshow (content limited to English and pictures/photos). The upper body of the contestant must fully appear on the video screen and speak to the camera at any time. (If multiple slides are used, points will be deducted by the judges)

C.    Non-competitors themselves and other props irrelevant to the content of the presentation shall not appear on the screen.

D.    The results of the competition are based on the decision of the judging committee. The rematch will be held on May 12th, and the contestants who are shortlisted for the rematch will be notified separately.

 

4.    Selection criteria:

In the English oral report competition, the R&D Office invites the primary selection committee to review and select a few students to enter the semi-finals (May 12)

A.    Briefing content (including theme suitability, attractiveness, wording and organizational structure).

B.    English expression ability (including pronunciation, intonation and fluency).

C.    Typhoon and body language (including typhoon robustness, eye contact, volume control, speech speed and time control).

 

5.    Competition rewards

A.    Poster exhibition: A certificate of participation

B.    English Oral Report Competition: The finals will be held on May 12th, and the prizes will be awarded as follows:

I.         Special award: Certificate and NT$10,000.

II.       Excellent prize: Certificate and NT$5,000.

III.     Excellence Award: Certificate and NT$2,000.

 

6.    Precautions

A.    Poster file format: One-page poster PDF file, please use the size of 90*120 cm (vertical poster). If you want to attach the school logo (LOGO) to the poster production, please pay attention to the school logo version (LOGO).

B.    Please upload the poster and video link (please provide the website URL after uploading to YouTube) to the application system.

C.    Please complete the submission before April 14th. In order to ensure the fairness and justice of the competition, if the video submission is overdue or exceeds three minutes, you will be disqualified from participating.

D.    English Oral Report Contest please report in English throughout the competition, and use English PPT or poster. Please keep the sound clear and loud in the video, and the contestants themselves must appear on the screen throughout the process.
